Bicycle Tour Magical Pinte
From our starting point —the small village of La Arena Alta— we cycle 5 km up the colourful Pinte ravine, also known as the "Rainbow of Atacama" due to the varied colours of its hills, which were once —millions of years ago — the bottom of the sea.
Reaching the tiny little village, which has no public transportation and no internet nor cell phone service, we take us time for a rest and to let ourselves be absorbed by this place that seems like a scenery of a fairy tale and where time seems to stand still.
We listen to the wind and the birds, explore the area, and learn about its history and its paleontological treasures.
From there, we descended the ravine, enjoying the beautiful views until we reached our starting point.
With extension El Tránsito:
From La Arena, we continue cycling along the shore of the Tránsito River, which gives life to this traditionally agricultural valley. In the main village El Tránsito, we visit its picturesque village square with its church and marble benches typical of the area. There's time for lunch or to try one of the typical "helados de nieve" before continuing along the hillside with a wonderful view over the valley until reaching the village of Chanchoquín Grande. We return along the main street of these small rural villages back to La Arena.
