Alto del Carmen, a small town in the Huasco Alto territory, is the place where the fertile inland valleys of the Tránsito and the Carmen rivers meet. It’s the place where the Huasco River and the Tatúl mountain range were born.

We begin our tour at the town square before venturing on the main road into the Carmen Valley and cycling a circuit passing small villages, returning along a path that follows the Carmen River.

We enjoy the unique atmosphere of this area, the contrast between the green vegetation surrounding the river, the hills, and the blue sky. Refreshing in the river is also possible during summer. We arrive back to Alto del Carmen at the statue area, a great spot to take a nice souvenir photo before returning to Vallenar.
