Fullday (2 - 8 participants) Season: possible during the whole – astronomical observation subject to weather conditions

We begin this experience in the afternoon with a citytour through Vallenar (from Monday to Friday a visit to the provincial museum is included) to gain an insight to the characteristics and the history of this desert town and the surrounding in which it is located.

We then leave the urban area to visita a wineyard outside of the city where high-quality wines of different grape varieties are produced. Together with a specialized guide, we visit cultivation, production and guard areas culminating our visit with a wine tasting. 

It's worth mentioning that the wineries around Vallenar are young, but their wines have quickly gained widespread recognition among winemakers and excellent scores thanks to their favorable terroir, which proves once again that the Huasco Valley never ceases to surprise.

To enjoy the sunset, we head to "Espacios Mehuén," a place created in the desert that offers a very pleasant and special atmosphere. Here, we can learn how the handcrafted candles and lamps that Raúl Silva creats using colored earth from the local hills, take their shapes. While the day fades away, we enjoy a delicious cocktail prepared by the family that created and lives in this space.

Now it's time to marvel at the night sky over the Atacama Desert. Accompanied by an amateur astronomer and his telescopes, we get up close to the stars and learn about their connection to the Indigenous worldview.
