Our Sutainability Policy

Our Sutainability Policy

Indian Valley Explorers , a small family enterprise and local Tour Operator of the Huasco Valley, was born in the year 2012 based on the conviction of its creators, that this territory is full of natural and cultural riches - some of them unique – which provide a hugh potencial to the place as tourist destination and therefore the oportunity of a local sustainable economic development, independent of mega industries , founded on micro- and small local entrepreneurship and based on the authenticity and identity of the place.

With the desire and the mision to contribute a grain of sand to this kind of ecomomic development, we created a local tourist offer based on sustainable practics and focused on the environmental- as well as the sociocultural conservation in the territory.

For that we declare to:

  • Do not support or encourage tourism of sexual and commercial exploitation of children, adolescents and people in general, committing ourselves and adhering to the Code of Conduct for the prevention of “ESCNNA” (sexual and commercial exploitation of children and adolescents).
  • Adopt the commitment to the 10 principles of fair trade and focus our commercial actions around it
  • Promote the non-discrimination, granting total respect to any kind of gender, nationality, native peoples and people of different political or religious convictions, generating relationships with suppliers and customers under these principles.
  • Seek contantly to train and educate ourselves in matters related to sustainable tourism and contribute to maintain the respect for the cultures, customs and the biodiversity of the place where we carry out our tours, taking measures to minimize negative impacts to the community and nature.

We are convinced that it is everyone's responsibility to apply sustainable practics through our actions. Any action we realice brings with it an impact on nature and the societies. We should always be aware of the consequences of our actions and take responsibility for them in order to enjoy our planet today and let those who come tomorrow enjoy it.
