Useful information

We recommend you to bring to your visit to Huasco Valley:

• Sunhat, sunglasses and sunblocker
• Wind jacket (especially for the coastal area)
• Photographic Camera
• For tours and excursions: sufficient drinking water

If you visit the Alto del Carmen commune, be aware of that:

• there’s no gas station, so we recommend to refuel in Vallenar if you travel in your own or a rental car.
• there’s no bank nor big supermarket

But there are several small shops where you can find the most basic things.

There are also many local farmers and producers who sell their products.

In the town of Alto del Carmen there’s a cash machine where you can withdraw money with the following cards: Redbank / Visa / Mastercard / Cirrus / La Polar / CMR / Presto

• Internet is qute unstable in many places, so there are no card payment options and we recommend you to carry cash.

From Vallenar there is public transportation to different places of the Province in the following points:

• Rural Bus Terminal Calle Marañon 1201:

Alto del Carmen, Tránsito Valley, Carmen Valley, Domeyko, Cachiyuyo, Incahuasi

• Bus stop Calle Brazil/Catorce de Julio (behind the indoor stadium):

Freirina, Huasco, Caleta Chañaral de Aceituno, Carrizal Bajo, Llanos de Challe National Park.
